NextGen Jiu-Jitsu Exhibition Match Policy
NextGen Jiu-Jitsu competitors will be provided with the opportunity to voluntarily add matches while maintaining the international single-elimination format. This will be accomplished with the implementation of Exhibition Matches. Competitors, who would like more experience, are alone in their division, were initially disqualified due to only missed weight or being late, can register at the tournament for Exhibition Matches.
Exhibition Matches available for :
White Belt & Blue Belt ( Adults/Masters, Male/Female)
KIDS and JUVENILES
The number of exhibition matches a competitor is potentially eligible for,
will be determined by which round they were eliminated during their matches.
If the competitor was eliminated in the:
First round - They are eligible for 3 exhibition matches****
Second round - 2 exhibition matches****
Third round - 1 exhibition match****
Exhibition matches are optional.
Exhibition matches are 5 minutes in length for Adults, Masters
Kids, Teens and Juveniles match lengths will reflect normal regulation times.
In the event of mix belts, the rules applied will be that of the lower belt.
Competitors are matched up by the ring-coordinators in the designated area.
It is the responsibility of the competitor to find the exhibition match ring-coordinator,
It is important to note that these exhibition matches do not count towards attaining a position on the podium/medaling. They are strict to allow our athletes to participate and develop their skills. (Athletes alone in their division who have not been disqualified will still eligible receive a first place medal in their division as with IBJJF Rules).
Disqualified competitors due to disciplinary actions are automatically exempt from exhibition matches.
****Event organizers will not be responsible for lack of available competitors or other unforeseen circumstances resulting in fewer available matches.
